![]() I had enough going on in my life that I didn't want to have a possible confrontation or any other issue with a waitress and a restaurant when I was just trying to relax and have an early breakfast. ![]() I went into "Granny's" to relax and enjoy what I thought would be a good breakfast. And if I'm going to be blamed for not having spoken up about this bad food (I usually do speak up), this time it was early in the morning and I was tired and hurting from back problems and other medical issues. All I can say in a positive light is at least they weren't rotten or had turned bad before their/the potato 'mix' had been cooked. They were the most outright bland and tasteless potato pancakes I'd ever had. I'm not a potato pancake preparation expert, but these were just no good. I do not know if the potato pancakes I'd ordered were from a mix, from a mix with some old grated potatoes thrown in for good measure or what, but they were absolutely tasteless. Even though the waitress was accommodating (I'd asked for a little bit of sour cream and a little bit of applesauce instead of just one of each when I'd initially made my order and was nicely not charged extra for this request), high prices and bad food is no excuse for businesses (in this case restaurants) having trouble nowadays with high costs, labor problems, etc. What you see here in the pictures cost me $15.20 inclusive of tax $10.99 for tasteless potato pancakes and $2.99 for a cup of tea with some extra water with a wedge of dried out lemon. ![]() The + comes from running restaurants with my father early in life, but I digress. ![]() My opinion comes from personal restaurant experience, after retiring from 32+ years in the restaurant business back in 2000. They're all a little professionally "too smooth" in my opinion. After my experience here earlier in the week, I just cannot understand all these glowing reviews. ![]()
